Club Format Changes

As of 4/6/11, the club voted, following prior discussions, to go ahead with a shift in formatting for our weekly meetings.

This is an overview of the changes to be implemented starting next semester.

The meeting will now be comprised of 5 shows and one extended break (roughly 40-50 minutes). The break will be a time for discussion of the shows and related issues, socializing, as well as voting on shows (to be discussed later in this post).

The shows will now run as follows:
Two shows, shown at the end of the night, after the break, will be selected by the officers at the beginning of the semester from suggestions given by the members the previous semester. These shows will run from start to finish as normal.

The other three shows will be selected from submissions by card holding members. Each cardholder can make one submission and once all the submissions are gathered, three will be drawn randomly to be show the following week. For the sake of covering any complications, a fourth backup show will also be drawn in the event we cannot procure one of the first three.

Once these three shows are selected, the first episode of said shows will be shown during the following week. Then, during the break of that meeting, we will hold a vote. Members may vote either to show the second episode the following week, or drop the show an choose another at random. In order to pass the vote to continue to the second episode, there must be a simple majority. The following week, if the club so chooses, they may vote to show the third episode of a show. This will require a 3/4ths majority vote by the members. No show will be shown past the third episode.

The votes will run as follows:
Each show will have a separate vote to determine if it will continue. During the vote, the votes of a card carrying member count as 2 votes while non-cardholder members count as 1. Non-cardholder members will vote first, and cardholders will vote second. The votes will then be tallied and the decision made.

If there are any questions, please bring them here, or to an officer in person. We will attempt to answer as best we can.
